Lantern Festival in Chiang Mai

I took these photos at the Mea Jo lantern festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This event is definitely a must visit when you are around at the right time!

The afternoon starts with several religious ceremonies. Hard to understand for Western people maybe, but it’s well worth the wait! It all leads to a massive sky lantern release. I think more than 100.000 lanterns are all release at the same time. Wow!
